April

April 5, 2020

We are now into April and isolation is a way of life. We are doing well catching up and keeping busy. All activities are closed but golf. We golfed this morning despite the continuous sprinkle, barely enough to get you wet. We are hoping for some stronger rain this afternoon, we need it. I wore a mask (bandana) for the last hole and for the ride home just to get used to it as we will probably wear them when we go shopping or other areas with the general public. Sent that picture to our financial advisor and told him we had a new plan for our economic recovery. Been walking every day and staying close to home. Encountered a snake (black racer, I think) on our way back from the mailboxes the other day. My left shoulder has been bothering me when my arm hangs or is not busy. Probably because I have not been keeping it active. 'Motion is lotion' That is keeping us close to home and my motorcycle rides short. In addition to walking and golf, Alesa is also keeping busy gardening, baking, reading, watching Britbox and all kinds of new projects to try. She is crocheting pet beds out of plastic bags she has cut into strips (loops), linked together and wound into a ball. She is also starting hydroponics. In support of my never ending search to reproduce the 'Paramount Pastries' maple rolls of my youth she got a recipe from Laura and spent the day (lot of dough rising) making them yesterday and they turned out to be as close as we have come. They are good. Oh yea, and she is reviewing and possibly reorganizing everything, nothing is safe. Our library has given us access to 'Ancestry' for the month of April so I am quite busy investigating our ancestors. I have been downloading census pages, draft records, graves, marriage licenses, death notices, etc. Some really cool stuff. I am updating and downloading them into my 'Family Tree Maker' software. Sent Aunt Bernice her mom and dad's marriage license and Craig his dad's draft registration form. We just got off a 'Zoom' teleconference with him and Janet and found out he had just finished refurbishing his dad's army knife and mounted it and his dad's dog tags on a stand he built. He will now include the draft registration in the display. Keep safe, don't become a carrier.
