AZ16- Queen Creek Wash
Jeff led us on a long bike ride. We rode to the end of the Queen Creek Wash Trail and back. A total trip of almost 15 miles. The temperature reached 112 degrees but we didn't pedal fast and stayed hydrated and the ride was relatively flat. Alesa's front tire was flat before we started so we fixed that. Good thing we bought extra patches last night. Also bought a tire liner for the bike I am using because I had two flats yesterday. It's a long, narrow strip which goes between the tube and the tire as extra protection from those small thorns which put a pinhole leak in the tube. I ordered two more sets for the other bikes and that should reduce or even eliminate flats. After swimming, shopping and eating it was decided to watch "White Christmas". We missed the last two Christmases and we had catching up to do on that tradition. It was a busy day so the movie was put on hold halfway through so everyone could go to bed to be resumed at a later date. Also had a small rain shower pass over with thunder and lightning. A very, very rare occurrence here so we all went outside to enjoy. It went by quickly, was very light and didn't even get the ground wet. Hope some of it fell on the telegraph fire.
