AZ20- ASU
Today is the day for Bridget to get a tour of her dorm. There was a full travel day planned but it ended up being abbreviated a bit due to the heat. Started the day watching a couple of coyotes walking around the basin which is being flooded. Danielle and Bridget drove up to ASU separately since only one person could accompany Bridget on her dorm tour. Jeff drove Alesa and me up to ASU where we picked up Bailey who had spent the night there. He dropped his phone in a pool last night which is a whole other story which does not bear repeating here. Jeff drove us around the campus a little to include seeing Bailey's new apartment building. We were going to walk up Hayden Butte, also called the "A" mountain, but it was way too hot. We went to the foyer of Bridget's dorm to connect with her and Danielle. We all went to Old Town Scottsdale to stop at the Sugar Bowl where Jeff treated us to ice cream sundaes. We had treats there the last time we visited and Alesa wanted to go again. Bridget headed home and the rest of us went off to Frank Lloyd Wright's winter home in the northeast part of Scottsdale. It is called Taliesin West and now a campus for an architecture school. We went for Bailey who is majoring in architecture at ASU. But, alas, it was closed for the day and the gate was closed such that we couldn't even see the building. We drove to the other side of Phoenix to Glendale to see the State Farm Stadium, the home of the Cardinals. We also walked around Westgate to loosen our legs after a long drive. Back home where Jeff and family are now out shopping to include a new phone for the "B".
