AZ26- Dinosaur Mountain Golf

June 25, 2021

Today we golfed the Dinosaur Mountain course at Gold Canyon Golf Resort in the shadow of the Superstition Mountains. You can see the humps in some of the pictures which makes it look like a sleeping dinosaur. It was an awesome course and I made more than a few golf ball donations to the golf gods but it was well worth it. The golfers were Alesa, Jeff, Bailey, Jeff's friends John and Brad and myself. We reserved for two threesomes hoping to be able to golf as six or move things around during the round. But it was too crowded so John and Brad golfed ahead and Alesa and I golfed with Jeff and Bailey. The course was absolutely gorgeous as it snaked around and through Dinosaur Mountain with many elevated tees. It was tough because it was narrow and if you rolled or hit off the grass the area was very steep and rocky with many desert plants making the ball almost impossible to see and the area even harder to walk on. Every hole was prettier than the previous one and it was hard to not take pictures of each one. There were tall cactus between the tee and the fairway on a number of holes and there were golf balls embedded in them where they were hit. It was 102 degrees but fairly comfortable as we kept hydrated. Back to the pool and a cheesesteak dinner before 'babysitting' while Jeff and Danielle went to a comedy club with friends.
