Back on the courts !

May 20, 2020

Normal Sunday morning golf with the guys then home for some relaxing. Mike wanted to Zoom with uncle Bob so I set up a session for Sunday evening. We met with Jeff in the afternoon so he also joined the evening meeting with Bob and Mike. Cathy was talking with Becca so we had her join us as well. It was a great couple of hours get together. On Monday, things here in the Villages continued to open including court sports. It was a rain threatening day so, while Alesa was chomping at the bit to play tennis, she let me off the hook and we golfed in the afternoon and checked a friend's house on our way home. They are back in Erie. On Tuesday she was not going to be denied so we headed to the Eisenhower courts but it started to rain and looked ominous in that direction so we U-turned and played at Rohan. So is the fickleness of the Florida rain. We play platform tennis for a half an hour and then real tennis on the paddle court for the last half hour. It’s a good way to keep your tennis skills up, plus Alesa says that is what we have to do. Dan, our next door neighbor, turned 75 yesterday so we had a golf cart parade on his behalf. But it was mostly just visiting on the front lawn. Got my second shingles shot at the VA this morning and we stopped at the nursery on the way back to browse and pick up some palm fertilizer. We did the platform/tennis combination again and Alesa gardened while I went to the neighborhood pool. We are the only ones playing tennis but the pickleball courts are busy. Only 3 courts at a time and a monitor controls admission from a line waiting on the sidewalk at 6 feet apart. Jim sent me a photo of our softball team in Korea and we traded stories. Hot and humid today so we spent the rest of today relaxing.
