We made it back to Erie yesterday afternoon after some thunderstorms and have registered at Lampe Campground until Sunday.  Tom Carroll, a good friend of the family and my brother Bob's best friend, passed away Tuesday.  We were able to attend the funeral mass this morning and the wake following.  We knew there was a reason we came back to Erie.  It was good to see old friends but would wish for a better reason.  This afternoon is the 'Roar on the Shore' motorcycle ride from the Casino to the bayfront led by Peter Fonda.  It should be a huge event and me with my Harley in the garage back in Exton.  The overwhelming response from our 'friends' is that we should have run the border crossing with our booze.  Sorry to say but our 'great adventure' plans did not allow for jail time or we just might have.
