Bailey's Apartment
Bailey moved into his new apartment today but first let's catch up on the news. After many months without rain, we had almost an inch last Friday. After a warm spell it has been cold and windy and last week's rain here in the valley brought snow in the higher elevations. Flagstaff had a bad snowstorm, and we could still see snow on the mountains East and North of the valley as late as Monday. Needless to say, we buttoned the pool back up and will wait for some warmer weather. I did go up to the neighborhood pool and hot tub and really enjoyed soaking in the tub to relieve some aches. We are expecting some more wind and rain tomorrow but it should stay relatively warm. It was nice not to have to change the clocks on Sunday but now we have to be aware that the East is now 3 hours ahead of us. Alesa met with her surgeon on Monday and was liberated from her sling and is so happy about that. Still has to take it easy but has much more freedom. She even drove the new car for the first time yesterday and did well, but it was a chore since she still doesn't have full motion with her right arm. She drove to her PT today but was too tired and sore after PT so I drove home. Her surgeon said she was doing very well but it will take some time to fully recover. We stopped at the Black Bear Diner after her appointment for breakfast to celebrate her 'un-sling-ing'.
Bailey got the keys to his new apartment yesterday and spent the night on an air mattress to be ready for the delivery of a new couch this morning. Later he rented a large U-Haul van and he and Jeff loaded his stuff from home and stopped by here for a piece of furniture then off to the apartment. We met them there and then Bailey, his friend Parker, Nicki, Jeff, Danielle, Alesa and I helped unload the 'stuff' into his apartment. He is on the 22nd floor and has a glorious view to the South. He is kitty-corner to the soon to be renamed Footprint Center, where the Suns play and a block away from Chase field, where the Diamondbacks play. It was our first time to the apartment and we were blown away by the view. After he gave us a tour of the facilities we left and they were headed to Ikea for some more shopping. I must say Bailey is living the dream, graduating in May with a graduate degree in Architecture, a good job in a leading architecture firm and the apartment of his dreams, we are so proud. He will be missed at home.
