A beautiful day for hockey practice

February 9, 2009

Yesterday was Annika's birthday party but, it being a kids' affair, we decided we would go over on her birthday (the 11th) instead.  But now we are going to a funeral in Maryland that day so we will have to pick another.  Such a busy calendar.  Bailey called asking if his sun catcher was dry yet and asked us to ship it to him.  Nana, Bailey and Bridget had glued sea glass together into a mosaic to make sun catchers and they left them here to dry.  We had also sent the rock polisher home with them to try to make some sea glass and when we went down the other day to watch the kids we took along a Heineken bottle to break up and load in the polisher.  Since it was such a nice day yesterday and the sun catchers were dry, we decided to deliver them, check the trailer to see if any of the melting snow had leaked and watch Bailey's floor hockey practice at the Y.  We had a good day as Bailey had a good practice, the trailer didn't leak, we inspected some excellent sea glass from the polisher, we hung the sun catchers, Nana played Mario Kart on the Wii with Bailey and we listened to Jeff and the kids sing Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffet's "It's 5 o'clock somewhere".  Our favorite part was Bridget's enthusiastic singing of the chorus "pour me something tall and strong, make it a hurricane before I go insane" as she danced to the music her father played on his new guitar.  Our current travel plans have us leaving here on 3/2 or 3 for about 2 months down south.
