Busy in Maine
On Monday morning Bob, Cathy and Becca headed back to Erie and we headed out to Vermont. We drove in and out of peak leaf colors on a very nice drive on a glorious fall day. We left home around 11 and arrived in Rutland, VT before 6. We ate, toured the town and then back to the Red Roof Inn to watch Monday Night Football. Tuesday we headed out to Cabot through the beautiful Vermont countryside. We took the Cabot Creamery tour, visited the gift shop and headed out through Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine on the way to Grand Lake Stream. It was about 70 in the valleys with snow on some of the mountain tops. Killington, VT had decorated hay bales (round) throughout the town and we took pictures of a few. Today is a warm but rainy day and Alesa worked out with Laura on the Wii while Steve and I volunteered with the Down East Land Trust to tear down an old bridge across a dam out in the Maine woods. Last night, 20 miles out of GLS we received a call from our financial advisor who invited us to a complementary cooking class at the Four Seasons in downtown Philadelphia on Saturday morning. It includes morning refreshmentt, a morning with their head chef and then lunch. Alesa wanted so bad to do it and we were prepared to head back home but she sent an email today declining the invitation.
