Cabela's

May 23, 2012

Yesterday rain was forecast so we took a day off from working around the house and rode into the middle of the state to see if it was a place where we might want to live. We stopped by Cabela's to use a Christmas gift card. We took back roads and made a point to pass through a lot of small Pennsylvania mountain towns. It was a great day and we saw some new things and a lot of things we haven't seen in a while. We passed by an 'active adult' community so stopped by to investigate. It was a row of small, neat homes around a lake and seemed very nice except for being in the middle of nowhere and having some vacant lots and some of the homes for sale. Later internet research seemed to show that it didn't reach its full potential. We did get a picture of one lakeside home with a very nice outside model train layout.
We continue to get the house ready for a future sale and are getting a lot of pointers as we watched Paul and Carol sell their house and build and get ready to move into their new home in the Villages by the end of the month. Our neighbors, Ken and Sue Schwed, have put their house up for sale and have begun to build a new home at Hillview in Coatesville by the end of October.
