Calendar Visit

December 30, 2010

Since we were enjoying a nice quiet week after Christmas, we decided to kick it up a notch by having the grandkids over for a few days and give the parents a rest.  Since Mike was coming this way on business and Jeff was coming up for a bowling party, we had them drop the kids off on Tuesday afternoon.  The main activity yeaterday was the creation of a 2011 calendar.  Elyse and Bailey measured and drew the monthly grids and Nana wrote in the dates and each kid drew/colored the pictures for each month.  It worked out well and now Nana has her calendar complete with preinstalled memories.  We were planning on a long outside walk but there were not enough snow boots so inside we stayed except for a ride around the neighborhoods looking at Christmas lights.  We also rented the "Sourcerer's Apprentice" and am still not sure why it takes 2 adults and 4 kids to pick up a redbox dvd at the local grocery store.  I am sure the 2 dozen donuts we ended up with had something to do with it.  Today we went up to the Lion Share Diner and all had a hearty breakfast with no donuts but there were plenty of strawberries, whipped cream and syrup.  They are now reading, playing and working as were ready for the return trip after lunch.  We will be stopping at Ikea on the way for some more 'doggie butts'.  Have a safe, healthy and Happy New Year.
