Camp NanaPapa 2011
On the 29th we picked up the trailer, parked it on the street in front of the house and finished packing most of our ‘stuff’ for the summer in Erie. The grandkids were dropped off that night and the next morning we packed their ‘stuff’ along with what we needed until the last minute. We left about 10:30 and drove to Erie and arrived at Lampe Campground at 6 PM after a great trip, the kids were great and no one got sick. Friday we had lunch with Uncle Bob at the Barber Center, then to Whippy Dip for Black Raspberry cones and to the Peninsula to drive under the Ravine Flyer II and beach comb for beach glass and rocks. Once back at the trailer the kids moved the tent to the side of the trailer. Elyse and Bailey spent part of the night outside on Thursday night and Bailey, Annika and Bridget spent the whole night outside last night. We visited with Bob, Cathy and Caitlin before grocery shopping and returning to the trailer. Today we went to the Erie Zoo and back to the trailer for the first of the kid-selected meals: foot long Smith’s Hot Dogs and pasta salad. Bridget and I went to the library to renew my library card, check out the Niagara schedule and check out a couple of books. The kids then made their Camp NanaPapa shirts and are riding their bikes waiting for the forecasted rain.
