Camp NanaPapa, Day 6

June 26, 2010

The power was still out when we got up so I shuffled things between freezers and refrigerators and ran our small fridge off the generator for a while since it was being picked-up at 7:30.  Nana cooked a full breakfast on the grill on the side burner and I went out to clean up the yard.  After a short while everybody was out helping with Bailey being the wheelbarrow/wagon man.  He did need some help when the wagon got stuck about half way down the stairs in the side yard.  What was he thinking?  We burned much of the wood in a small metal fireplace and piled the rest in the back.  At 10:30 the power came back on so we switched everything back and the kids watched their library DVDs and read their books and played some Wii.  After lunch, which included self made girl/boy salads, we went over to the pool in the afternoon but it was still closed due to the power outage.  The kids worked on their projects: blank books and comic books to fill in with a story, clay dioramas and Bailey made a flagpole out of an old carpet tube we had saved for camp.  Jeff and Danielle came over about 9 to pick up Bailey and Bridget as they both have parties to attend on Saturday.  The kids said their goodbyes and were sad about the fact they would probably not see each other until the Fall after we get back from Erie.
