Celebrate Erie

August 21, 2011

Thursday we went to the library and i went to the Heritage room and did a little geneology research while Alesa walked up to Frontier Park and back. That night we watched the Eagles get beat which was tough due to all the Steeler fans in the campground. Friday we drove up to Celebrate Erie and walked around a bit. It was a little early for the shows but there was a lot for the kids to do and a lot of sidewalk art being prepared. We did get to see the beam from the World Trade Center on North Park Row. I believe they have yet to decide how and where to provide a permanent display here in Erie. Saturday morning Alesa got her hair cut and that afternoon we rode the bikes and took the trolley into town for more of Celebrate Erie to include the cardboard boat races in the East Slip. That night we met Bob, Cathy and Becca for dinner at Cougar's. We also had a nice visit with Pat and Jackie. Bob, Cathy, Alesa and I then walked around Celebrate Erie a bit. Then up to Bob's to help them download their vacation pictures from the Smart Phone to their computer. Went to mass at Sacred Heart this morning. Masses are being held in the church auditoriom for a few weeks while they redo the church. The auditorium is where we (the school) assembled every morning for mass before school. Skyped with Mike, Lisa and the girls tonight, they just got back from a week at the shore. Then I biked over to the dock for the fireworks while Alesa continued to recover from a late night out. Spent some time under a tree during a sudden cloudburst on the way home.
