Coeur D'Alene in the Idaho panhandle

August 27, 2007

We are now on Pacific time in an Idaho town on a beautiful 26 mile long mountain lake.  There are float plane rides, parasailing, dinner cruises, resorts and tremendous views.  We are going to stay another night and enjoy the day before moving on.  We have half decided to continue to the Pacific Ocean west of Portland and our neighbor stopped over and recommended some places to stay.  He is from Georgia (Reading, originally) and has spent the last 2 months volunteering for the National Park Service in southern Idaho and got here by way of the coast.  He has also helped identify many of the stones we have collected as Leaverite.  Meaning, "Leave 'er right where you found them because they ain't worth anything".
