Covid Vaccine

January 29, 2021

I received my second shot yesterday and Alesa has an appointment for her first on Monday (2/1). While the first shot was a piece of cake and just a sore arm for a day, I am finding the second shot quite different. I've had chills, fever and achy muscles the day after. They say it's normal as the body fights to build immunity and will subside in a day or two. Nothing really major just a general feeling of sickness. Still played water volleyball today and probably shouldn't have. (NOTE: All vaccine side effects were gone the next day.) Alesa is registered on the Sumter county site to get an appointment but they had to send most of their supply to Tampa for the health care workers. Probably due to the upcoming Super Bowl. They have postponed existing appointments and don't know when they would be able to get back into scheduling. So, Publix is making appointments in many other Florida counties. We got online at 6AM on Wednesday but didn't get an appointment. They only make appointments on Wednesday and Friday at 6AM. So, we went to their page this morning on multiple devices and patiently watched the ball spin for 50 minutes until we finally 'hit the lottery' and were able to schedule Alesa an appointment for her first shot on Monday at a Publix in Ocala only 20 miles from here. (second shot on 3/1) We built a raised bed garden this week, got some soil today to finish filling it and Alesa is busy planning her spring garden. Cool again today but it is generally warming, her pollinator hotel is getting filled up. Our Direct TV account expired yesterday so we are learning the ins and outs of YouTubeTV. Paid a man earlier this week to remove the seed pods from our palm as they will make quite a mess when they drop. I was going to do it but Alesa was afraid I might fall and I certainly didn't mind not taking the risk, doing the work or getting stabbed by all the barbs on the fronds.
