Craig's Birthday

August 23, 2016

Craig turned 65 last Friday so he and Janet came up Saturday so we could celebrate with pickleball, cake, ice cream and an apple pie. They did manage to beat us in a game of pickleball and we considered withholding cake and ice cream but we are good sports. I golfed with Gene on Thursday and we golfed with him and Connie on Friday but got chased off the course by lightning at the fifth hole, better safe than sorry. Gene rented a car and headed back home to Atlanta area Saturday at noon. He had to get back to work while Connie stays here to enjoy the Village lifestyle. They did take us out to dinner the other day as a thank-you for our help during their move. Must be a week for eating, we golfed with Len and Roberta on Sunday and they took us out to lunch for the things we have done for them. Cracked the root beer open and it was pretty good but I'll make the next batch a little stronger, Also the pineapple we picked the other day was excellent, juicy and sweet. Paul had planted some apple trees from seed but Carol wouldn't let him transplant plant the survivor from a pot to their yard so we now have an apple tree in our backyard. Did get to see a couple of nighttime launches over the last week.
