Crown Molding
First, Happy Veterans' Day to all who have served. Thank you for your service. Today was the day we had crown molding installed in the entire house. Eight people arrived at 9:30; site preppers, movers, tarpers, measurers, cutters, installers, caulkers, painters, touch-up painters, clean up and, of course, a bill collector. Got a 4% discount for being a veteran and paying with cash.
Good thing I remembered the banks were closed today so I got the cash yesterday. They all got right to work in an assembly line manner and were done by 1:30 after installing the pre-built cornice they measured for yesterday. They were very efficient with only two glitches. I wasn't able to walk under the cornice without ducking so they moved it up and two walls with the same color paint didn't match. To clarify, we painted two areas with the same color paint but they were bought at different times so the touch up paint used in one area didn't match. They said they would come back and fix it once we determined the problem. We found a jar of the right paint so I will touch it up myself. All in all a great result. Alesa is happy so I am happy. After they were gone I was able to install an outlet on our lamppost between rain bands from hurricane Eta. It will hit here in the morning as a tropical storm with winds and rain but nothing we can't handle. Installed the outlet because we will be spending our first Thanksgiving/Christmas at home since moving here. So Alesa wants Christmas lights. Covid is keeping us from traveling to our families, let's hope it's over soon. Sorry about the quality of the pictures but they were a hurried afterthought with no help from the lighting.
