We left Alpine and went through Fort Davis and wound through the Davis mountains by the McDonald Observatory.  We picked up I10 and then followed the Rio Grande to El Paso.  We decided we had enough of big cities so decided not to stay in El Paso but went through Las Cruces to Deming, New Mexico.  We gained an hour as we are now on Mountain time and are set up at the Little Vineyard RV park.  It's sunny and hot but bearable and should be cool in the evening.  One of A's goals was to visit the Rockhound State Park which is a few miles southeast of here.  This is one of the few parks which allows you to take things from the park.   So we will be learning about and hunting rocks most of the day tomorrow.  She will probably want to climb up and down mountains but I plan to sit and wait for the good ones to go by.  Then back to the RV park to the indoor pool and the hot tub.  We will be here for at least 2 days.
