Dinner Party

September 22, 2008

The Pruners were back in town for a visit, staying at Goodman's, so we had the group over for dinner on Friday evening.  The group included the Pruners, Goodmans, Holdens (except the sick one), Smiths, Schweds and us.  Everyone brought a dish-to-pass and Alesa cooked for an Octoberfest theme.  On Wednesday Alesa and I golfed 18 at Meadowbrook but we relaxed and rented a cart.  Today we will be going to the driving range.  Late Friday night, Craig & Janet's middle daughter Kate, gave birth to Morgan Claire in Lakeland.  Mother and daughter are doing fine.  Our congratulations to Chuck and Kate.  Summer is over and we have been enjoying the cooler weather with walks and other outdoor activity.  We bought a new ventless gas stove on Saturday in preparation for even colder weather.  I have been riding the motorcycle more since jeans aren't uncomfortable to wear.  Our kitchen is 12 inches above our family room and has a step which covers about half of the opening.  The other day I missed the side of the step and took a tumble into the family room.  This was not the first time that has happened.  No damage, although the banana I was eating did get a little messed up.  Yesterday we extended the step across the entire opening so that won't happen again.  Funny how one little accident makes you more careful.  I hope the rest of you will be careful without the added 'incentive'.
