Today we drove into Dothan to visit and see the changes.  Also when I worked for GE in Erie we built a small motor plant in Dothan and I was down here quite often for visits.  Dothan is the peanut capital of the world.  For those who might have been wondering about the Boll Weevil monument in Enterprise it is there because the weevil nearly destroyed the local cotton crop which caused the locals to diversify which included growing peanuts.  When the cotton market collapsed in later years there was much reason to rejoice around here because peanuts stayed strong.  As in Ozark we were surprised by how much building there has been and the GE Motor plant is still there and operating.  The traffic was terrible but the Golden Corral was excellent.
