Easter +

April 10, 2021

Had friends and neighbors over last Sunday for an Easter dinner. It was a good time and, as usual, Alesa prepared some excellent food and the leftovers are almost gone. While preparing breakfast the next day I felt pain and swelling in my left eye and when I checked, the entire white was blood red, almost black. While I have had similar occurrences in the past it didn't cover the entire white, there was no pain and there was no swelling. Given the new symptoms I decided to go to the emergency room. It was a subconjunctival hemorrhage and they checked my vision and the pressure in the eye and all was well. It has cleared quite a bit and should be back to normal in another week. That night Alesa tripped on the bed covers. bruised a toe and landed on a knee. The purple toe is clearing and the knee feels better. That same night one of the neighbor ladies, who was at the Easter dinner, felt poorly and went to the emergency room. She had severe Afib which caused a mild heart attack. She spent a few days in the hospital and is now home on blood thinners. All in all quite a week. We golfed and played water volleyball, prepared for Steve and Laura's visit next week and planned for our trip to Pennsylvania at the end of the month. I spent today changing the oil on the Explorer, the golf cart and the Harley. Better to get the mess out of the way all at once. We also were taking old electronics down to a local park for a county 'Recycle' day. But cars were lined up on the side of the highway for 7 tenths of a mile to get into the park and there would be another quarter of a mile of cars in the park. So, there is always next year.
