The End of March and beyond

March 31, 2010

We have been home a couple of weeks now and are pretty much caught up with things.  Today we picked up the trailer from where it has been snow bound and missed the trip south.  They finished the state inspection so we parked it in the driveway and have repacked it for summer travelling so there won't be much to load when we hit the road in late June.   We will take it to storage tomorrow.   It has been rainy and cool for the last few weeks but today is warm and beautiful.  We signed a contract to get the house painted this summer so now we only have to worry about the roof.  The current plan is to do it myself since it's only the lower, flatter roof with the leak.  I've also been busy getting the subaru inspected and replacing brakes, caliper, rotors and the master cylinder.  Now we have to put at least 100 miles on it so the computer registers enough information for the emissions inspection.  Last weekend we went to see Mike and the girls and took over a spare freezer.  We are continuing to downsize, slowly but surely.  I'm hoping to get my fishing license today so I can get some time on the stream before the hordes of trout fishermen descend this weekend for opening day in Southeast PA.  The kids will be over Saturday to celebrate Easter and then we may head back to Erie for a few days.  On the 10th we will be in Harrisonburg, VA for Alesa's cousin's 90th birthday, then we'll be in Ft.Wayne on may 1st for Scott Diewald's wedding.  We are still planning on camping in Erie during July and August then heading out west for the month of September or so.  We want to see Bryce, Zion, Monument Valley, etc before the winter.
