Erie and back

April 6, 2010

We left for Erie Sunday morning taking our old TV to Bob and Cathy.  Since the last one fell over in the back of the truck we were especially careful in loading it this time and were very happy when it made it in mint condition.  The weather was good and we had a great visit as all three of the 'kids' were home at some point of time and Jim and Mary Claire stopped over to say hi.  On Monday morning we had breakfast at Taki's on our way to the peninsula to pick up a few small beach stones for Jeff to incorporate into counter of the bar he is building in his basement and we took a picture of where the Waldameer roller coaster crosses the road.  We went by Becca's new house (May closing) and stopped at the Erie Port Authority to insure that we were still scheduled to be camp hosts at Lampe in July and August and we are.  Since Bob and Cathy took the TV off our hands we returned the favor by taking their Foosball table to Jeff's on the way home.  Jeff called us on Sunday night because Bailey and Bridget wanted to know when we were comimg home.  We were thrilled to think they missed us but, yes, they were just anxious to get the table.  We had a good trip back because the weather was great and the mountains had a red tint as the trees were all budding and the individual pink, white, purple and blue budding trees looked like fireworks on the sides of the mountains.  Today it hit 87 degrees and will be 90 tomorrow so summer is here.  We hiked along a trout stream this afternoon and I hope to get out in the next few days for some quality stream time with the fly rod.  This weekemd we will be in Virginia then back because Steve and Laura will be visiting next week as they try out their new retirement.
