Erie Club

October 11, 2019

Many of the snow birds are back from Erie so October was the first meeting of the season last night (Always the second Thursday of the month). This is usually the 'Ox Roast' meeting but we had a 'Poker Run' instead. A 'Poker Run' is where people (usually a couple) drive their golf carts to five different locations (Rec Centers) and draw a card. It is entered on their sheet and, when finished, they return to the meeting. We then had Hungry Howie's pizza, salad and dessert for them. There were six prizes awarded and, surprisingly, the highest hands were two pair (3 teams) and two of a kind. We have not had a poker run in a few years and wanted to have it before the time change so people wouldn't be racing about in the dark. Board members did bring ox roast back from Erie but it will keep in the freezer until the November meeting. We had 25 pizzas but only used 20 so we took the remainder as well as the left over salad to the firehouse. There were 50 members at the meeting and all had a great time.
