Erie Club
Tonight was the February Erie Club meeting and the annual Smith's Hit Dog night. It is the most attended meeting of the year and this year didn't disappoint as we had about 150 people in attendance. We have the hot dogs shipped down from Erie and, this year, we cooked 250 ahead of time and about 24 more at the meeting. In the past we cooked them all at the meeting but we always fell behind. The new process worked great. My cousin, Larry Carullo, who lives close to the meeting place, brought his grill and cooked the 24 once we saw we were going to be short. There were only 3 left over. We ordered over a few 100 more and kept them frozen for sale after the meeting. Most of them had already been reserved and we had 20 packs of 8 left to sell and they went pretty fast. I was able to buy a pack as Jeff will be coming from a business meeting in St. Pete's to spend the weekend with us before flying back home. Alesa did not make the meeting because she stayed home to be here while they finished installing our new kitchen counters. (Next post)
