Erie Club Corned Beef
Tonight, the Millers and we co-hosted the monthly Erie Club meeting. Sandy cooked the corned beef and cabbage dinner and we helped prepare and I took the reservations for the last few weeks. We served over 90 people tonight and all was very good and the evening was capped off with a music trivia contest. Paul and Carol joined us and I even met my step-cousin, Larry Carullo and his wife Diane, who are renting here until the end of this month. On Tuesday we had the Roes over for lunch. Alesa worked with Diane Roe at the cat hospital and we haven't seen them in over 10 years. They've been here for about a year and live a few blocks away. We ran across their names on a list after we got here but weren't sure it was them and hadn't contacted them until we ran into Diane and her mother at the Strawberry Festival at Brownwood last week, boy was she surprised and happy to see us. Last Sunday morning Craig's bees swarmed and the air was thick with them until they settled in a nearby tree. It was actually a little scary until they quieted down. After we got home he texted that they had left and found a new home and the remaining bees were continuing life as usual in his hive.
