Erie Club Horse Race night

January 12, 2017

Tonight was the January Erie Club meeting and it was Horse Racing night. Lost our bet on 3 of the 4 races. We would have won the 4th race but I was talking and the window closed as I got there. Alesa and Cheryl Maloney were jockeys in that race and I was going to bet on them. Cheryl won and paid $8 on a $1 bet. The dinner was pizza, salad and cupcakes. It was a fun night and a big crowd. The club is getting bigger and we have had to move to larger venues for our meetings. Alesa is having surgery for her diverticulitis next Wednesday and she had an EKG and bloodwork today at the hospital so we drove through downtown Leesburg on the way home and stopped at the God Café for breakfast. She had apple fritter French toast plus an apple fritter on the side. Last Saturday Craig and Janet came up for pickleball and on Sunday Alesa and I had a 9:26 tee time but canceled because it was 37 degrees and windy but we did get to play twice last week. Tuesday we had dinner with the Maloneys at Catfish Johnnys in Lake Panasofkee. I had the Cracker Platter of catfish ( two whole fish and fingers), gator, frog legs and corn fritters while the rest of them had catfish and shrimp. We all had great meals.
