Erie in the Fall

October 20, 2008

We drove up to Erie on Friday stopping in Coudersport for lunch with Joe & Diane Dougherty.  We took mostly back roads and the fall foilage was spectacular; sun-lit reds, yellows and greens.  The higher elevations in the higher latitudes were actually past peak.  We took the NY southern tier expressway from Olean to Erie.  We installed the bed at Bob & Cathy's and have been staying there.  On Sunday we went to visit Terry & Ann Russel (recently retired, Terry being an Episcopal priest) in Painesville, OH.   They are former neighbors and dear friends from Harborcreek.  Again we took back roads and enjoyed seeing towns we haven't seen in years.   We installed wireless at Bob & Cathy's and spent the rest of the day enjoying the company, football and baseball.  Go Phillies!
