Fish fry and Pie

March 24, 2018

Went to another financial workshop including a dinner at the Nancy Lopez Country Club. We liked this group so we met with the financial and insurance guys and they say we are doing the right things and we are set to meet with the lawyer (elder law and estate planning) in early May. Craig and Janet were up for pickleball on St Patrick's day. They headed home after dinner and we went to see Johnny Wild and the Delights performing at Brownwood Paddock town square for the St Patrick's Day celebration. I went to the home brewers club meeting this week because, while I have not been active for a while, they are having a brewing competition at the "Backyard Brewery" in May and will need judges. Part of the March and April meeting will be spent preparing for judging. Last Night the Dawson's hosted a Fish Fry of Lake Erie yellow perch which they brought down with them and it was delicious. Bunni (hostess), Ann (cooker), Ed (catcher), Cathy Bauer (visitor), Carol & Paul and Alesa & I were there. It was another great evening of eating and catching up. And I always seem to forget to take the important pictures. The group also anted up $30 to play the Florida Lottery because the pot is so high. Nobody won last night so the pot continues to grow. BUT, our group did win $10 so we are going to let it ride. Today Alesa and I drove over to Dunnellon, about 40 miles northwest of here just because we have never been there, that we can remember. It was a beautiful trip over, we toured the historic city and walked some of the wilderness trails. Just outside of town we passed a restaurant that advertised pies and had a lot of cars in the parking lot. So, after our tour and hike we headed back there to check out their pies. They were excellent.
