Flyers Game

December 11, 2011

Bailey's request for his birthday weekend was to go to a Flyers' game. Last night the Flyers played the Tampa Bay Lightning and we went. Jeff joined us and we had dinner at Chickie and Petes down by the sports complex. Great meals, especially their world famous crab fries- french fries with old bay seasoning. We valet parked and took their "Taxi Crab" shuttle bus to and from the game to avoid the traffic at the end of the game. We got there a little early so we toured the Wells Fargo center and ended up down next to the ice and while there an usher (David) gave Bailey a practice puck and his eyes got as big as saucers. It was an excellent game and the Flyers won 5-2. The Taxi Crab ride back, while very crowded, was a lot of fun with all the fans in a great mood and bantering with us and Bailey, the only kid on board. He held his own! The valet parking at Chickie and Petes was a great move because, being right next to I-76, we had no traffic to speak of and made it home in a half an hour or so. It was a great night for all of us and Bailey even got to see boat house row all lit up.
Today we went to breakfast at Bob Evans, finished Bailey's Christmas gifts for his mom and grandmother and are watching the Eagles game.
