Frontier Town
We left home about 9:30 and picked up the trailer at Roamer's Retreat Campground. After we packed it up we headed out on a 140 mile trip to Ocean City. The kids were very good with a lot of, "Are we there yet?". At lunchtime we couldn't find a fast food place with enough room for the trailer, mostly because of the lunchtime crowd. So we pulled into a Lowe's parking lot and made sandwiches in the trailer and let the kids run. We got to Fontier Town before two, checked in and set up the trailer. The girls helped Nana in the trailer while Bailey and I set up the trailer. The set up was longer than normal because we had to drain the anti-freeze from the water lines, fill the hot water heater and remember how everything worked. It was very, very hot so we went right to the water park then after a snack off to Assateague Island to walk on the beach and see the wild ponies. The water park was outstanding as was Assateague National Sea Shore. We saw plenty of ponies, deer, fishermen driving on the sand, beach campers, kites and shells for collecting. We stopped at a KFC in Ocean City per the kids' request for dinner. Then back to the trailer for a little Harry Potter and then sleep. We don't even remember our heads hitting the pillow and I'm sure the kids don't either. It continued to be hot so the AC was on all the time except the first night when they requested fresh air.
