Frontier Town departure day

June 24, 2010

Today we got up and after a hearty breakfast the girls helped clean up and Bailey helped get the trailer ready for travel.  Check out time was 11:30 and we used every minute.  The kids were great coming home, we had sandwiches on the road and they sang almost all the way except when we were playing a version of '20 questions'.  I didn't hear a single "Are we there yet?".  They were happy just being together.  We dropped the trailer off back at Roamer's Retreat, packed up the truck and headed to Jeff's for dinner before heading to Bailey's track meet in Wilmington, DE with Jeff and Danielle.  On the way we took a lot of winding, hilly back roads and Annika began feeling queezy so, per her mother's suggestion, they began singing just as loud as they could.  It has been great that no one has gotten car sick on any part of our trip.  It was 100 in the shade at the track meet and no breeze so Bailey ran the 100 and 200m races and skipped the long jump.  He did well and it was a good event in a full size stadium with loudspeakers and lights.  Yeh, the lights meant it was a late night.  We stopped at McDonalds for ice cream and when we got home the kids did a great job helping to unload the truck followed by another good night of sleep.
