Getting reay to leave

July 30, 2009

We are headed home tomorrow.  We volunteered to be camp hosts at Lampe for a month in September to early October.  We will be storing the trailer here until we come back rather than dragging it back and forth across the state.  On Monday my sister Ava visited before a medical procedure so I picked up Marilyn to join us and we had a nice visit.  Afterwards I took Marilyn home on the downtown trolley.  On Tuesday we played 18 holes at Lakeside and, that evening, my cousin Frank launched his boat from Lampe Marina and took us out on the lake and through the bay.  Frank, his wife Judy, son Aaron and daughter Caitlin showed us a great time as we toured, swam in the lake and got towed in a tube: a new experience for me.  We had a great time with a very nice family.  On Wednesday, Ann Russell a dear friend and past neighbor, stopped in from Ohio and after a brief visit at the trailer we drove over to the old neighborhood and had a luncheon at John and Suzanne Selleney's house.  The conversation and good times picked up just like old times from 22 years ago.  Terry was missed and remains in our prayers.  That evening we met Bob, Cathy, family and friends at Presque Isle Downs racetrack and Casino.  We spent the night betting the horses where we won a few and lost a few and ended up breaking about even.  We have become very lax in taking pictures but here are a couple.
