Off to Gilbert

November 6, 2019

Golfed on Sunday and watched football. Busy packing (or, at least, thinking about it) for most of the day. Monday we were hard at packing and Lois arrived in the afternoon. Lois was our next door neighbor here before she moved to Charlotte. She will be moving from her apartment shortly and is thinking about moving back to the villages. So we offered her our house while we were gone so she can look for a place to move or at least visit with friends for a little vacation. On Tuesday we checked in for our flight, played water volleyball, got Lois settled and headed out to Craig and Janet's. We spent the night at their place and they took us to the Tampa airport in the morning. We beat the rush and arrived in plenty of time to check our bags and have a small breakfast. Security screening was a breeze as we had TSA pre check and didn't have to take off our shoes. Since we both have metal body parts now we did have to have a full body scan. We flew Southwest from Tampa to Houston (Hobby) then on to Phoenix. Jeff flew in from a business trip in LA at 12 so he was there to meet us when we landed at 12:30 then an Uber to his house. The flights were great. On the first leg we had aisle and window seats with the middle seat empty but on the second leg the middle seat was occupied, albeit a small lady. The seats were comfortable and the flight crew entertaining while Alesa read the whole way and I watched a movie and live TV on my phone and laptop courtesy of Southwest. At Jeff's early we had a chance to unpack and decompress before some shopping, relaxing and visiting before collapsing for the evening. The recycled water overflow/holding area behind Jeff's house is flooded and full of ducks and his pool is cold in spite of the solar cover.
