Golf, Gator, Group and Granite
Finally got my shingles shot at the VA on Thursday. Kept going there for it but they hadn't got clearance from my oncologist due to my chemotherapy but they always promised to have it next time. This time I sat in the waiting room until they got it. I had been told it would be OK but they needed it in writing. Follow-up shot is scheduled for April. When we built our house we went middle-of-the-road on countertops and upgrade a later day. That day came for the kitchen and we had someone out for an estimate on Friday. We went to a local granite/quartz/marble showroom that afternoon and picked a half a dozen candidates. Alesa pretty much decided on Green Butterfly granite so I called this morning and had them wash it and check stock so we could come out and decide. It was outside so it was dirty and hazy and we only cleaned a small spot the other day. We went back and Alesa still loved it so we tagged it and called the installer when we got home after breakfast at Wa-Wa. They will be out on Thursday for final measurements. Alesa had an MRI for her neck/arm late Friday afternoon. Golfed at chip and putt again with Maloneys on Saturday and Tim almost stepped on a little gator as he was searching for his ball. Both survived. They treated us to lunch afterwards for the work we did for them on their yard while they were in Erie this summer as well as work I did on their golf cart. They certainly didn't have to. Tim's cousin Greg Martin, another Prep classmate of ours, was in town and we had lunch at the Cane Garden country club. Tim had another cousin join us and it was a great get-together catching up and reliving old times. Alesa didn't join us because she had a lot to do to include ladies water volleyball. Last night we had Tim and Cheryl over for cake and whatever since today is Cheryl's birthday. We then facetimed with Mike, Lisa and Annika (no Elyse as college students are hard to track down) and had a wonderful visit. Alesa is now off to her violin lesson then ladies water volleyball while I go to MVP. Also hung a platform tennis ball from the ceiling of the garage this morning to help Alesa pull the car in far enough but not too far. Also, prayers are needed for my cousin Anne's son Chris who is now in hospice.
