Goodbye Erie

August 26, 2022

Yesterday we went to breakfast at Perkins with Bob and Cathy. We then went putter shopping since I broke my putter during one of the last rounds in Canada and have been using Bob's. Alesa will give me back my old putter and she will get a new one. We got the car washed and Alesa got her hair trimmed before we went to dinner with the Maloney's at Valerio's. We also stopped by the Cherry Hill condominiums on Cherry Street extension to find out about renting a unit when we transition from the Villages. No definite plans, just looking at options. Today we slept in and Bob fixed us a nice breakfast before we packed up the car. We only had about an hour trip to Grove City where we are spending the night tonight. We left Bob and Cathy's, drove by the dock to see the tall ships, circled around Prep to see the new construction and went to Werner Books in the Liberty Plaza. Maloneys told us about a local author, Chuck Porta, who had written a number of books about his growing up in Erie, so we stopped there to buy a copy of the first one. We stopped at Urbaniak Brothers for some sweets and smoked salmon before heading off to Whippy Dip for their Black Raspberry cones. While there we met a couple from Mars, PA. Lisa, who was from Erie, was back visiting and photo-bombed our photo. Stopped in Meadville to visit my sister Ava but didn't stay long since we weren't in the best parking spot and she was receiving other visitors. Got to Grove City around 2 and were able to check into the hotel early. We drove through the city and drove by Pat and Tracy's theater. Didn't stop because Tracy was in Columbus visiting Toni and family. Walked all through the Grove City Outlets next to the hotel before coming back early to relax and catch up.
