GPS Launch

November 6, 2020

Watched the launch of a GPS satellite on a Falcon 9 rocket last night. It was a very clear night and the rocket launched to the northeast so I was able to watch it through the first stage shutdown and the second stage ignition. It is the longest I have been able to watch a flight. Had a couple planes fly through on their way south, what a sight for them. I am sure the pilot would announce the launch but with my luck I would have been on the wrong (right) SIDE OF THE PLANE. Alesa's and my hearts and heads have been feuding with each other for a while. The hearts want to visit the boys and their families during the holidays while the heads are sure it would not be worth the risk. The heads finally prevailed and we will have to plan to include the families remotely. My doctors have warned me that my chemo puts me at an increased risk while we are both at risk due to age. We are both healthy and strong and and sure we would weather covid but why risk losing the last battle after such a long war. Be safe!
