Great Sacandaga Lake - The Adirondacks

July 9, 2007

We are at Ronda & Denny's camp on Sacandaga so Alesa can visit (commiserate) with her cousin. We were able to back into a spot Denny built up with crushed stone in the woods on the road behind their camp. We had a nice visit last night and they took us for a ride on their boat this morning. We will enjoy their scenery and company for the rest of the day and expect to leave early tomorrow morning to spend the day in Portland, Me. We came from Erie by way of I-86 and stopped at a rest area just across Lake Chautauqua. It was the nicest rest area we have been in with a drive up to a victorian building and very nice overlooks of the lake and interesting plaques about the history of the area.
