Happy New Year

January 1, 2022

Left Orangeburg early on the morning of the 30th and pretty much missed all the traffic. Google routed us around an accident when we reached Florida. It was a way we had taken a few times in the past but tended to avoid it because it passed through the town of Baldwin with its traffic and many turns. Good news, the bypass is finished and we skirted the town. We may be going that way from now on because it avoids Jacksonville altogether. We arrived home a little after 1 and were able to unpack, catch up with mail, etc. and get settled before a good night's sleep. Craig and Janet left after us and made good time as well. Yesterday was a little shopping, housekeeping and yard work. Unpacking got Alesa into a spring-cleaning mood. We also ordered Alesa's Kindle Paperwhite, an Oculus Genesis II, Turbo Tax and new 'guts' for the wall clock which seems to have stopped working while we were gone. We were busy but relaxed as well. Today was sleeping in, taking down Christmas lights, visiting neighbors, yard work, football and eating pork and sauerkraut.
