Happy New Year
Our 55th wedding anniversary was on the 27th and we celebrated on the 28th. We went to a local restaurant, High Tide, recommended by jeff and had excellent meals followed by a complimentary slice of key lime pie for our anniversary. We are looking forward to many more wonderful years together. We met with the surgeon at Arizona Sports medicine yesterday and he answered all of our questions and gave us scripts for the labs, etc. she will have to have done. The scheduler was on vacation so she will call next week to schedule a time and place for the surgery. It will be a long recovery she believes it will be worth it. After the appointment, we walked around downtown Chandler. We had not been there before and it is a charming downtown with lots of bars and restaurants. We then stopped at Global bikes to exchange my Christmas gift for a wider bicycle seat. They had to order it and will call when it comes in. Alesa has been looking for a duck since she and Jeff had been talking about smoking a duck. We haven't had much luck finding one so I looked on the internet and there was a butcher in the area, 'Butcher Block'. They are closed on Mondays but we decided to stop by since it was on the way home. They happened to be open on a holiday schedule and they had ducks. We bought a duck and some polish sausage because we haven't found good sausage since Urbaniak's in Erie. A Randy's donuts just opened in the area and we stopped since it was on the way home and Yumm! It was a fun day out, experimenting and finding new places. And, the sausages were excellent. We will be returning. To help Alesa after her surgery we ordered bidets for each of our toilets. They have heated seats and water which may be unnecessary and a remote to make it easier for Alesa to operate while she is in the sling.
