Happy Valentine's Day

February 14, 2011

We left Exton on Saturday morning and didn't have any real problems getting the trailer out.  Had to back up a couple of times for a better angle at the turns but the road wasn't slippery.  We drove down I-95 and spent the first night in a Super 8 in Dunn, NC with the trailer parked in their lot.  Sunday afternoon we arrived at the Golden Isles RV Park in Brunswick, GA and dewinterized and set up the trailer, installed the electronics and totally unpacked in time to have an excellent seafood dinner at Zachary's, a new place down the road which was excellent.  We are staying here another night so we toured Brunswick, Jekyll Island and St. Simons Island.  They were all very impressive and we toured the lighthouse and Fort Frederica and stopped at the "Southern Soul Barbeque" on St Simons for lunch.  It was featured on the Food Channel for it's local food which was outstanding and the people so friendly.  We had forgotten how wonderful it can be to sample the local cuisine and Southeast Georgia seafood and barbeque did not disappoint.  On the way back home we stopped at the 'Lover's Tree" in downtown Brunswick for Valentine's Day.   Legend has it that it was where the native lovers would meet.  Tomorrow we are off for three nights in St. Augustine to tour and visit friends.
