Last morning coffee, last bike ride, last dip in the pool (including panda head) and finalized our packing amidst goodbyes. Notified that our 5:10 PM flight was delayed to 6:25 so we delayed our trip to the airport a little. Jeff, Danielle and Bailey took us to the airport. Bailey because he has to pick friends up tomorrow and this would be a bit of a dry run. After sad goodbyes we checked our bags, breezed through security, saw our flight was delayed to 6:40 and walked to very, very crowded gates to find a place to sit. Seems like everything was delayed and all the gates were a madhouse. Finally boarded, took off after 7:30 and landed in Tampa at 2:25 AM (EDT). Bags came quickly and we booked an Uber. I was worried about getting a ride at that time of night but there were plenty available. I upgraded to be sure they could handle two sets of golf clubs and two checked bags. The driver arrived within 7 minutes and we arrived at Craig's at 3:35. Uber was a pleasant and effective process. Decided we were not tired so we retrieved the second set of keys from the house and headed home. Drove through fog much of the way home with the wipers on to clear the condensation from the windshield, very different than Arizona. Were going to stop at McDonalds at our exit but it was closed so we had a full breakfast at Waffle House at about 5 AM. Unpacked a little at home and went to bed in the daylight at 6. Woke up at 7 and wished I had gotten more sleep and my wish was granted because my watch was still on Arizona time and I had 4 hours of sleep. After some more unpacking we went to do a little grocery shopping. Yesterday was pretty much unpacking, catching up, napping and reading a months worth of mail. Got a couple of checks from the US Treasury. The VA suspended co-payments during the pandemic and I received refunds for the ones I had made. Today is pretty much back to normal and we slept for 10 to 11 hours last night. It has been storming every afternoon here so we may have to wait to get back to water volleyball and golf. Sad to end a great visit but glad to be home. Alesa is already working on the yard.
