Just out of Page we stopped at the Horseshoe Curve on the Colorado River. It was a mile and a half walk but well worth it. We had heard of Waterhole Canyon which was just beyond horseshoe curve. You needed to buy a Navajo pass for $5 each then you could tour the canyon at your leisure. But, when we arrived they said the rules were changed last year and the only way to get into the canyon was with a tour guide at $56 apiece so we were on our way, We stopped at some Navajo jewelry stands and enjoyed our trip back to Jeff's. We arrived around 4 in spite of an I-17 closure which caused us to take a detour.
