Houma

January 30, 2008

We made it to Capri Court in Houma.  It is not the best campground we have been in but it is the only one around.  It has the facilities we need but the sites are small and there is a lot of soft, muddy turf around but we will make the best of it as we paid for the week in advance since it was Mardi Gras week.  The trip down was fun, the highways went over the prairie and then throught the swamps and over the bayous and ship channels.  Oil sure is king down here.  Tomorrow we will will go to dryer land and revisit where Alesa's dad and grandmother were born in Napoleanville and Plattenville.  Houma has the second largest Mardi Gras celebration in La with parades from Friday through Tuesday.  We spoke with Denny & Roni (Alesa's cousin) today.  They are in the NO west KOA and we will get together with them late tomorrow or Friday.
