Jukebox Bingo

March 9, 2018

Last night was the March Erie Club meeting and we played Jukebox bingo. They had made up different bingo games with song names rather than numbers and played the songs instead of drawing numbers. You didn't have to guess the song name because it was on the screen together with the lyrics. They were all oldies (this is The Villages!) and everybody sang along for a few bars, or danced (Stayin' Alive & The Twist), or signed (YMCA) or just jumped (Shout). It was fun and the biggest comment was that we could remember the words to all the songs but not what we had for breakfast. Another Prep classmate was also there from Erie. Ken Felix (the Vet) is a McKean neighbor to my step-cousin, Larry, and he and his wife are visiting them for a few days on their way home from Arizona. Last Friday I golfed with Ed and a couple of his neighbors at Pennbrooke Fairways, an 18 hole course just outside the Villages. Alesa had her Dilly-Dilly platform tennis tournament on Friday and Sunday and finished second in the mixed doubles division and is now a proud owner of a Dilly-Dilly drink cozy. On Monday Alesa had a doctor appointment for her knee and was diagnosed with a torn Meniscus which she could continue to deal with but decided to have surgery at the end of April. On Tuesday we drove down to Anna Maria Island., west of Bradenton, to visit Joe and Tets. Joe is a friend from GE days who transferred to Amsterdam, married Tets and now lives there. They rent a house here for a couple of weeks every winter to spend time with his daughter and grandson. It was good seeing them again and we plan to see them when we are in Amsterdam in October. We stopped off for a short visit with Craig and Janet on the way home.
