Keepin' Busy

September 23, 2009

Played 11 holes of golf with Bob on Thursday night and went to a fish fry at my cousin Frank's on Friday.  Frank and his family, Bob & Cathy, Ann and Ed Dawson and Cathy Bauer were there and the food was excellent, especially the fresh Walleye and Yellow Perch.  It was good to see all the Bauer cousins again.  Joe and Diane Dougherty from Exton came to Erie from their camp in Coudersport for the day on Saturday.  We went to the Irish heritage days at Rainbow Gardens and then to the Barbato's buffet that evening.  The food was good and the pepperoni balls were a big hit.  On Sunday we visited my Aunt Bernice, attended the Slovak festival, listened to the Eagles embarrass themselves and then watched the rest of the games.   We have been getting our fill of ethnic foods.  Monday was a shopping and catch up day and I installed an outside jack for a satellite connection to the bedroom TV.  Now we can take the duct tape off the window screen.  On Monday I picked up Marilyn and brought her to the trailer to visit with Ava and Bill when they visited and afterwards took her to Mom and Frank's grave and checked on the status of the family plots.  Today Alesa is off with Tracy to visit their Aunts Helen and Betty in Corry.  I went fly fishing at the mouth of Twelve-Mile Creek and caught a bunch of very small trout/salmon.  The Steelhead are not running yet.  The Niagara is in port for the winter now but we did see another tall ship come into the bay last night.  Tonight we are going to Bob's to play MarioKart with Bailey and Bridget over the internet.
