Lake Griffin State Park

May 7, 2020

Felt a little under the weather yesterday morning which was probably due to not sleeping well the night before. No real Covid-19 symptoms so we were not worried. I rested while Alesa worked outside most of the day. Felt better later and we did our mail walk. In the evening they closed Rt 44 and moved the new Chitty-Chatty bridge in place. Watched a live stream of the action at 9 PM. On big wheeled jacks and they drove it across the road and then sideways into place. Feel great today so we drove over to Lake Griffin State Park for a long walk. It had just reopened yesterday. Of course, the car wouldn’t start but as soon as I put my battery charger on it, the car started right up. I turned it off and removed the charger and it started right up again so it sounds like a loose wire or something. I’ll clean it up and hope there are no more problems. It was a very nice walk, but we encountered an alligator on the path, so we took an alternate route. The walk also had a 100 yard section of a pair of two by sixes zigzagging their way through muck and mire. A couple we encountered prior to that had warned us but we opted to decide when we got there but it was not as bad as they described. Actually, it was fun and Alesa’s sneakers were still clean and white when we were done. The couple had a dog with them; a Labrador and Basset mix; Alesa’s two favorite breeds. It was a cute fat black dog with short legs. The car started OK after our walk. On the way home we drove by the new bridge and noticed some skywriting. Took a picture of “TRUST” and headed home. We were both hungry and started eating when Mike, from across the street shouted for us to come out and see the skywriting. We went out and watched as “JESUS LOVES U” was written in the sky. The “TRUST” part blew away before they finished the rest. TRUST JESUS LOVES YOU. We did our normal mail walk this afternoon and I took a short motorcycle ride.
