After a leisurely morning the ladies packed a lunch and we headed to nearby Lake Toxaway for hiking and a picnic. Turns out there are no parks around the lake for public access. We stopped to ask directions and they sent us to a private marina where we had access to the lake but no picnic tables. Plenty of chairs to see the lake so Alesa and I headed out to find other options while the rest of the group ate and explored. There were some close parks and attractions but they were all closed due to dry conditions. Alesa and I continued to explore and headed to Cashiers. There is a good size wildfire about 15 miles south of us on Pinnacle Mountain in South Carolina and we hope they keep it contained. We are able to see the smoke plume from our porch. Since not many leaves change in Florida we are enjoying the colors.
