Made it to Avignon
The 9 hour flight to Frankfurt was about 70% full so we were able to use a couple of seats each but still very uncomfortable. Alesa read a book, played some games and stretched across the two seats to get some sleep. I watched a couple of movies and tried to use two seats to get some sleep but got very little. The best part s of the flight were the clear night starlit sky, flying over the cliffs of Dover and seeing the Rhine River. We arrived in Frankfurt on time and had a 4 hour connection. The flight to Marseille left about 20 minutes late but we arrived on time. The best parts of this flight were seeing the snow capped Alps flying over the Mediterranean and, of course, that it was short. We breezed through customs and were met by a Viking Cruise Line driver who drove us to Avignon and out hotel. We arrived at about 7 and in time for dinner. We met Steve and Laura, had dinner, drank a lot of wine, met a lot of people and went to bed at 10. We had been up for 30 hours. Turns out, Viking didn't even check the Covid test results because they test us every day. All that stressing for nothing. Well, at least they could be pretty sure no one would test negative once they got there. Also found out that our boat had hit something underwater, bent the propeller and damaged the engine. They feel it will be fixed by Tuesday night. We hope.
